Identification
The species can reach 6.2 cm in length. Back slightly humped. Silvery yellow coloration with faint bluish spots on flanks. Tail fin is yellow with large black transversal band. Dorsal fin elongated with yellow and white margins.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in Central Africa, in Congo and Democratic Republic of Congo, in middle and lower reaches of the Congo river basin. Lives in large freshwater rivers and their tributaries.

Status : This species remains common within its range despite being locally harvested for the aquarium trade. It seems to suffer from no threats currently.
