Identification
The species can reach a wingspan of about 7 cm, rarely more. Black body with large white spots. Wing coloration is black, with white edges, and large light turquoise bands and spots. Underwings are slightly duller and browner.
Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs from Sri Lanka and India to south China and Taiwan. The other subspecies occurs in Indochina and peninsular Malaysia to Sumatra. Found in woodlands, coastal mangroves and urban gardens.

Status : The species is not assessed yet but it has a huge range and is globally common. It can live in man-made habitats and isn’t facing any threats.
