Identification
The species can grow to 5 cm in length. Its carapace is trapezoidal and smooth, its legs are small and flattened, its pincers are short but broad. Coloration is uniform dark greyish-green except for its orange to red pincers.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Asia, in southern China, particularly in Fujian province. It is known to be found around Hong Kong as well. Lives in mudflats and mangroves in coastal areas.

Status : The species is very poorly known. It was believed to have a small range but it seems to be wider than previously thought. Occurs in protected areas.
