Identification
140 cm body length (tail 100 cm), weight up to 92 kg, females are much smaller. One of the biggest kangaroo species, males are rufous-brown with grayer legs, female is all grey. Both sexes show white cheek band. Large head.
Range and habitat
This species has a wide range comprising inland and western Australia. Never occurs in hilly areas. Found in lowland grasslands and shrublands never far from water.

Status : The species has a large range and remains common despite of urbanization and hunting in some parts of its range. Occurs in many protected areas.
