Identification
Large pitviper reaching up to 120 cm in length. Wide triangular head with slightly upturned nose, reddish eyes. Coloration usually bright green to yellow-green with orange to red blotches on back. Row of yellow scales on lower flanks.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-east Asia and is endemic to the Philippines, occurring in most major islands except from Palawan and Cebu. Lives in tropical forests, including disturbed forests, sometimes close to water.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species isn’t threatened so far as it has a tolerance for habitat disturbance. It is still occasionally collected for the international trade.
