Identification
Adults can reach a length of 88 cm. Triangular head with pronounced scaly ridge from eyes to flattened snout. Coloration is brown with indistinct brown blotches on back. Second half of body is more reddish-brown. Tail is quite short.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-east Asia and is endemic to the island of Borneo, being found in Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei and Kalimantan. Lives in lowland and montane rainforests, plantations and swamps, up to 1200 m.

Status : The species is endemic but widespread and relatively common. It doesn’t face any current threats according to IUCN.
