Identification
Adults can grow to 2.3 cm, females slightly bigger than males. Coloration is brown to black or with black edges. Light greenish-yellow to bluish blotches and bands covering back and flanks. Forelegs well marked.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South America, west of the Andes, only in western-central Ecuador, in the provinces of Bolivar and Cotopaxi. Lives in submontane forest remnants along rivers, from 600 to 1800 m.

IUCN RED LIST : VULNERABLE

Status : The species has a very small range and is known from only 10 locations. Number of breeding adults is very low and still decreasing.
