Identification
The species can reach 14 cm in length for a weight up to 24 g. Black bill. Females are yellowish with white belly and olive-green wings. Males are bright golden yellow with darker wings and orange collar and nape band.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Africa, from south-central Kenya to north-east Tanzania. Lives in dry bush country and swampy lowland areas, below 1500 m.
