Identification
Adults can grow to a body length of 19 cm, tail length of 18 cm and weight up to 239 g. Short muzzle, round ears. Fur is dull grey-brown with a thin yellowish band and larger black band on flanks. Belly and breast are grey.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-East Asia, from Malayan peninsula and Tioman Island, to Sumatra, Tambean Archipelago and Java. Subspecies endemic to Java. Lives in the canopy of primary and secondary forests.

Status : The species is still locally common but is becoming more and more threatened by deforestation throughout its range.
