Identification
This species grows to a body length of around 15 cm. Large head with slightly flattened snout. Very warty skin. Coloration highly variable, from beige to sandy yellow to brown or greenish with brown to red blotches on back. Clear belly.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in northern Africa, from Morocco east to Algeria and Tunisia, south to Western Sahara. Lives in marshes, rivers and lakes in dry forests, urban areas, plantations, shrubs.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a large range and can live in a broad spectrum of habitats as long as water is present. It isn’t considered threatened so far.
