Identification
Adults can grow up to about 1.30 m in length. Large and pointed triangular head. Coloration is light brown turning grey on flanks. Dark brown band from eye to neck. Light-edged dark brown blotches on back and flanks (aligned).
Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Asia, from extreme east India to central and East China, south to northern Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam. Also Hainan and Taiwan. Lives in grasslands, shrublands, forests and agricultural land, to 2000 meters.

Status : The species has a large range and remains locally common where it’s not overexploited or persecuted. Suffers from no threats at the moment.
