Identification
Adults can grow up to 4.6 cm in length. Coloration silvery with black edges on each scales. Males have a broad longitudinal red band running from eye to tail and yellow fins dotted with black. Females show two dark blotches on flanks.
Range and habitat
The species appears to be endemic to Myanmar, occurring in the lower Chindwin river and in an artificial pond in Toe Gyi village. Lives only in freshwater rivers and ponds, maybe near waterfalls.

Status : The species, from what we currently know, has a very restricted range but has been widely collected for aquarium trade. Nothing else is known.
