Identification
Adults can reach a body length of 34 cm, tail length of 31 cm for a weight of 1.5 kg. Large orange eyes. Fur coloration is mostly greyish with darker back and forehead. Belly, breast and upper part of tail are bright orange (amount variable).

Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs in south-east Peru and Bolivia. Species also found from north-east Brazil to south Bolivia and north Argentina. Lives in deciduous and secondary forest in the Chaco, caatinga and cerrado.

IUCN RED LIST : DATA DEFICIENT
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species remains globally safe but subspecies infulatus could be threatened and this subspecies’ conservation status is still poorly understood.
